Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I just got an x-ray that indicated a bilobed nodular density seen in the left mid chest new since 12/18/2015. These measure approximately 9 x 16 mm in size. I realize that size is an important factor, and I don t want to get ahead of myself, but is this size large/medium/small? CT scan will be next, but I d like some information first. Thank you.
Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of doing chest x ray, any associated symptoms like cough, fever, hemoptysis, weight loss, smoking, etc???
Based on the report of the chest x ray, you have small sized nodular densities which could be due chronic infections like tuberculosis, fungal infections like aspergillosis or histoplasmosis. Other common conditions which may give rise to a similar findings include a benign tumor called hamartoma or a cancer of the lungs.
In view of the above you need to have further imaging studies like CT scan to find out the exact cause.
Hope this answers your query.
